How to make a cajun boiled peanuts Crock

Cajun Boiled Peanuts Crock Pot Recipe : If you have been following me for any length of time then you know that Cajun Boiled Peanuts Crock Pot Recipe are one of my all time favorite snacks. I’ve got a couple recipes on here already and a video but yesterday I took my cajun recipe and spiced it up with a couple jalapeno peppers leftover from my garden. I’ve never put peppers in my boiled peanuts but it sounded like a good idea and it sure was. I started nibbling on them around 9:00 last night and even though they were nowhere near being done the flavors were already developing. My husband, who doesn’t like boiled peanuts, even told me how good they were smelling. Use only one jalapeno if you don’t want them too spicy, but 2 really makes the pot.

I had these cooking all night long and woke up several times tempted to go eat a bait but if I got out of bed I would never get back to sleep. You can bet as soon as I got my teeth brushed this morning I had a bowl in hand ready to try a few. I’ll admit, I had more than a few as boiled peanuts turned into breakfast for me. The rest are now all bagged up and in the freezer ready for me to heat up when our Grandsons come to visit, hopefully by the end of the month. This time of year always reminds me of road trips to the North Georgia Mountains with my Parents and Grandparents to see the changing leaves. We stopped at all sorts of road side stands to get little bags of hot boiled peanuts, apples and jams. Those stands would have peanuts boiling away in metal barrels that were over a wood burning fire. They would fill up our bags and of course some of the juice ran out and it could get a bit messy but it was so worth it. Mama would ask for little containers for our peanuts if they were available so we didn’t make as much of a mess. I still say if you ain’t slurping the juice from the peanut and it be running down your chin to leave its mark on your shirt or britches that you ain’t eatin’ a boiled peanut properly.
